Ukraine: Photographs from the Frontline at IWM North

Little Greene

As part of our ongoing partnership with Imperial War Museum North, Little Greene colours are featured in their current exhibition, Ukraine: Photographs from the Frontline. The exhibition focuses on life in Ukraine between 2014 and 2022, through photographs taken by Anastasia Taylor-Lind.

Between 2014 and the present day, Anastasia Taylor-Lind has built up a portfolio of photographs that tell the story of those uprooted by war in Ukraine. She amplifies the voices of those involved in the 2014 Kyiv protests and the ongoing turmoil in Donbas and eastern Ukraine. Her collection of powerful images and portraits – on display in the UK for the first time – sits alongside quotes from herself, some of those she has photographed, and Ukrainian journalist, Alisa Sopova.

Hicks’ Blue provides a resonant backdrop to showcase Anastasia’s photographs. Two contemporary grey shades work well in the large, industrial space. The dark grey, Scree, is used on floors, contrasted with Wood Ash.

As the official paint sponsor of Imperial War Museum North, we provide paint for many of their exhibitions. This exhibition is particularly significant, as we were proud to donate £40,000 to the British Red Cross in support of the Ukraine Crisis Appeal earlier this year.

The Ukraine: Photographs from the Frontline exhibition is free to attend. Imperial War Museum North is based in Trafford, Manchester and is open 10am to 5pm daily.
