Throughout the month of October, Little Greene customers will be actively helping to support people with breast cancer, with proceeds donated directly to two selected charities in the UK. Last year, Little Greene raised £30,000 in support of breast cancer charities, and we hope to exceed that this year, for two charities Little Lifts and Make 2nds Count. Over the past 13 years, Little Greene has raised over £190,000 in support of breast cancer charities.
Our chosen charities have a particular focus on emotional support to individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment and their families.
Our Creative Director, Ruth, writes: “It is fantastic to raise money for some of the smaller charities that really make a difference at a very personal level to those having breast cancer treatment, supporting individuals and their families at a distressing and traumatic time. Each year we select charities where our donations can have a huge impact and the charities have been selected with a focus on providing invaluable emotional support to those undergoing breast cancer treatment. Our aim with this campaign is to ensure no-one goes through treatment without somewhere to turn to for emotional support or a space to share their experiences."

Little Lifts
Little Lifts provide free, thoughtfully curated gift boxes to support patients across the UK who are currently receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment. Little Lifts was inspired by the kindness Oa (founder) experienced from her friends and family during her own breast cancer treatment. She wanted to help people feel more prepared, supported and loved as they begin treatment.
In their boxes, Little Lifts aim to use locally, and ethically sourced products made in the UK. So far, they have provided more than 22,500 Little Lifts Boxes through hospital partnerships and their Little Kindness Fund.
Saba says, ‘In this Box, I found not just well-crafted essentials but a reservoir of hope, care and the affirmation that I am not alone on this journey’
The charity recently held their fourth fashion show to champion and celebrate their community. One of the models Emma, who underwent a double mastectomy took on the catwalk at the show. Emma shares, ‘I wanted to represent everyone out there that had decided not to have reconstruction and that were living with a flat closure after their double mastectomy and see what fun we could have with it. I could not believe the response. It was incredible!’
“We love championing our community because it is at the heart of everything we do. People like Emma inspire us every day.” – Little Lifts
At Little lifts HQ the team have used Little Greene paint to create an awareness wall.
Make2nds Count
Make 2nds Count is a UK wide patient and family focused charity dedicated to providing support to women and men living with secondary breast cancer, with a focus on research, support and education.
The charity funds secondary breast cancer research, working with oncologists, health researchers and scientists who carry out world-leading research into the underfunded area of secondary breast cancer.
The charity also host a 2nds Support Hub which offers an invaluable support programme where patients can access practical advice and support groups in their local area.
One patient describes her experience of the support group: ‘It’s a feeling of belongingness and the moment I meet up with other women in similar situations the penny dropped. “I found my go to group.” Also, I have learnt from the others how to better understand the cancer journey more than I have at a clinical appointment and I’m forever thankful and grateful for this.’
The charity also host a number of retreats and events throughout the year to enable patients to relax, engage in mindfulness activities and socialise in beautiful surroundings.
