From enchanting woodland murals to whimsical wildlife scenes, the designs within our Storybook Papers collection will bring playfulness and joy to all corners of your home!

Our Creative Director, Ruth, has picked out her favourite wallpaper designs from the new collection...

Wallpaper: Animal Kingdom - Atomic, Ceiling: Slaked Lime - Mid, Window Frame and Banquette: Slaked Lime - Mid

Animal Kingdom

“Fresh, bold and confident, our new ‘Animal Kingdom’ wallpaper is the perfect design to bring a sense of energy and dynamism to a space. It’s a wonderful whimsical scene that was drawn from a 1930s fabric found at Tyntesfield Manor in North Somerset, featuring polar bears, penguins, elephants, ostriches and tigers nestled amongst tropical foliage and leafy trees.

Wallpaper: Animal Kingdom - Pea, Shelf: Affogato, Wood Panelling: Olive Colour

This is a fantastic wallpaper to use in the more grown-up spaces within the home, such as dining rooms, breakfast rooms, or a family living room. The bright, bold colours of the ‘Atomic’ colourway will make a wonderful addition to a breakfast room, whilst the softer, autumnal shades of ‘Pea’ are perfect for a warm and cosy living space. It’s a design that really transcends nurseries and children’s room, and I hope it finds its way into many family spaces where it can be enjoyed by the young and the young-at-heart!”

Wallpaper: Potter’s Woodland – Spring, Ceiling: Clay - Pale, Round Table: Light Gold, Skirting: Clay - Pale, Table: Sunlight, Chair: Dorchester Pink, Bed: Boxington

Potter’s Woodland

“Our new ‘Potter’s Woodland’ mural depicts a gentle scene that brings to life Beatrix Potter’s love of the nature that surrounded her rural home in Cumbria. Detailed drawings of characterful woodland creatures from Potter’s unpublished sketchbooks are nestled amongst colourful flowers and painterly trees, creating an inviting and imaginary woodland world that little minds can enjoy exploring!

Mural designs like this are a wonderful solution for children’s bedrooms. The large-scale pattern repeat possible with mural wallpapers creates space for scenic designs that will transport any child’s room to an imaginative, story-filled space. Be it the badger in a flowerpot, the robin and bluetit deep in conversation, or the hedgehog perched on a toadstool, the characterful creatures in this wallpaper will awaken your little one’s imagination...”

Wallpaper: Nip & Lassie - Slaked Lime Dark, Floor: Slaked Lime & Slaked Lime - Dark, Skirting: Slaked Lime - Dark

Nip & Lassie

“It’s fantastic to be able to introduce a flocked wallpaper design in this collection. To celebrate this historic technique, I can’t think of anything better than our ‘Nip & Lassie’ wallpaper, which again features original sketches from beloved children’s author, Beatrix Potter. Often associated with heavy and grand damask patterns, we’ve used flock to bring a delightful, soft raised texture to the characterful Herdwick sheep that accompany Potter’s doodled portraits of her beloved working collies, Nip and Lassie.

Available in four gentle colourways, this is a charming, cheerful wallpaper to bring instant character and texture into any space in your home – from hallways and boot rooms to attic bedrooms. To make it easy to choose paint colours to pair with your wallpaper, we’ve suggested complementary shades for every design and colourway. These include related neutrals, coordinating colours, contrasting accent colours and related dark tones, allowing you to build an interior design scheme with confidence.”

Wallpaper: Broad Stripe – Pea Green, Window frame: Heat, Skirting: Pea Green, Stools: Yellow-Pink

Broad Stripe

“To complete this collection, we wanted to create some new bright and contemporary colourways to refresh one of our loved wallpapers – Broad Stripe. Stripes work beautifully in all areas of the home, providing an element of fun in attic bedrooms, an elegant backdrop to dining spaces, or a charming, quirky scheme for a downstairs loo. Having been popular in the Georgian and Regency periods, these wide stripes bring playfulness and vibrancy, or a refined and elegant atmosphere, depending on the colour combinations at play.

Right Wall: Broad Stripe - Pleat, Back Wall: Road Trip - Pleat, Skirting & Door Frame: Pleat

This is a classic ‘Roman’ or Regency proportioned stripe, originally produced in the early 19th century using the ‘open trough’ method. Using this technique, stripes were created by bands of paint seeping through holes or slots in the bottom of a wooden trough, onto the surface of the paper as it was pulled beneath. As part of Storybook Papers, ‘Broad Stripe’ has been re-coloured in a palette that can be used alongside other wallpapers in the collection to create an interesting, dynamic scheme.”
