Northern Ireland: Living with the Troubles at IWM North

IWM North’s latest exhibition focuses on the Troubles that affected Northern Ireland for nearly 30 years. Through a series of photographs and informational resources, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the varied perspectives of people in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. Walking through the exhibition, you will hear audio of different voices to demonstrate that there is no one true narrative of this period.

IWM North chose a selection of shades from our ‘Grey’ Colour Scales palette to accompany the exhibition. Based on the same pigment, Shallows, Urbane Grey and Scree are related shades that coordinate beautifully to provide a tonal backdrop. These contemporary greys evoke the atmosphere of Northern Ireland from 1970-1998, and bring a sense of poignancy to the space.
