Celebrated interior designer, Kate Marker, chose an inviting neutral palette of Little Greene paint colours in her Townie Cottages project. Four lakeside rental cottages in Union Pier, Michigan, have been transformed using shades from the Rolling Fog Colour Scales family.

In her Townie Cottages project, Kate aimed to transform four dated cottages into an idyllic countryside retreat, perfect for large family vacations. Looking for shades that would complement the tranquil rural surroundings, she turned to the ‘Stone’ palette of our ‘Colour Scales’ card, which presents families of natural hues that work together harmoniously.

Our timeless warm neutral, Rolling Fog, provided the colour for the exterior of each cottage – a beautiful accompaniment to a backdrop of lush greenery and natural materials. The coordinating deep brown, Chocolate Colour, was used to paint the doors and window frames.

Inside, Rolling Fog combines with its lighter version, Rolling Fog – Pale, to create a welcoming sense of transition from the outdoors. Kate has embraced these gentle neutrals throughout, instilling an atmosphere of peace, restfulness and relaxation that soothes and envelops you as you explore each room.
