We love how you incorporate so much colour into seasonal decorations. Do you have any tips for creating vibrant festive schemes?
“Vibrant doesn’t always mean tons of colour – sometimes just one or two shades combined with confidence can have just as much impact. If you’re bold of heart, try mixing clashing tones from the same family, such as cherry red and fuchsia pink. In the Rose & Grey collection this year, we have big red baubles, huge pink paper decorations and vases that look like giant candy cane sweets.”

“With a colour-pop scene, the joy is that the more you add, the more impact it has. Think of your scheme in terms of valleys, lakes and mountains, and add your colours to all three areas.
The valleys are your lower-level decorations – perhaps cushions on a sofa, or a tablecloth on a festive table. Lakes are your mid-levels – try big baubles on your tree, beautiful serving bowls full of red apples, or chocolates on your coffee table. And finally, your mountains, which add height to your scheme. Hang some impactful paper lanterns, light those colourful candles and add that big star to your tree!”

How would you create the perfect tablescape for hosting friends and family this season?
“First things first, tablecloths. We love tablecloths here at Rose & Grey, as they add instant wow-factor and colour. Napkins are a must, though clashing or mismatching is always ok for a handcrafted look. This year, we have napkin rings with tiny little ‘O’ shapes so you can thread through a sprig of something natural, which is a lovely touch.
Aside from plates, glasses and bowls, think about centre pieces that add drama but don’t block sightlines. Tall dinner candles work beautifully to create ambience. Rather than one big vase of flowers, try smaller bud vases or drinking glasses with Christmas foliage in.”

What are some of your favourite trends for festive decorating this year?
“We love to celebrate individuality and personal style. Bows are popping up everywhere this year to our delight – we’ve included a big red bow in our decorations range – and we’re also always drawn to a more folksy, decorative style.
But really, our favourite trend this year is more of an attitude – and that’s to tap into your joyful inner child! Reach for the bright colours, go big and have fun. That's what Christmas is all about really isn’t it?”
Can you share any ideas for small touches and details that can really elevate your festive scheme?
“Personal touches always add something special to a tablescape. Try making your own place cards – you don’t have to have fancy handwriting, you could use collage, stamps or just write initials.
You could also add a little gift to each place – this could be as simple as a carefully chosen bauble or just a chocolate.
For the green-fingered, a little plant pot with a winter cactus or homegrown seedling will look beautiful, and be appreciated for years to come.”
