19th Century Wallpaper

The regency period in the early part of the 19th Century saw elegant designs including Maddox St. and Lauderdale as two fine examples of the formal elegance of the time. The invention of mass-produced economical papers in the 1830’s spawned a boom in wallpaper usage - the Little Greene archive is littered with fine examples of Victorian Wallpapers from the latter three quarters of the century – these include Great Ormond Street, Brodsworth, Bayham Abbey, Stag Trail and the very delicate Carlton House Terrace together with representation from the Arts and Crafts period Lansdowne Walk
