Pink Double Drenching Inspiration

Pink Double Drenching Inspiration

October 3rd, 2024
Little Greene

To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, we’re showcasing our palette of beautiful pink paint colours, from the softest pink neutrals to playful, personality-filled shades.

Pink is a wonderfully versatile hue that can be used with confidence alongside coordinating neutrals or in a contemporary colour-drenched scheme. But for a statement pink interior, consider double drenching with a combination of different pink shades.

Our Creative Director, Ruth, has curated 5 pink schemes to inspire you to double drench your space and embrace pink in your home this October…

Walls, Skirting & Tiles: Hellebore, Vanity Unit: Blush, Window Trim: China Clay, Floor: Lamp Black

1. Classic, elegant and confident

Pink paint colours can bring instant beauty and character to your walls, whether you are decorating a main living space or a guest bathroom. Consider the classic dusky pink, Hellebore, which provides warmth and sophistication with its muted violet undertones.

Ruth suggests painting your walls and skirting in this gorgeous pink hue and introducing the deeper, related pink, Blush, on a piece of furniture to create a soft contrast. Instead of white, use a subtle, pink-toned neutral like China Clay on your woodwork and trim.

All: Masquerade

2. Rich, earthy and sophisticated

An earthy neutral like Masquerade is a smart alternative to a classic pink to instil warmth, tranquillity and comfort in your living space. Ruth suggests combining Masquerade with the complementary terracotta, Tuscan Red, to create a colour scheme that evokes natural Mediterranean settings, for an atmosphere of calm and restfulness.

For a dark accent colour, Ruth recommends the rich deep red, Arras, which will work wonderfully on skirtings to ground the scheme, or to create an impactful focal point. Introduce natural wood, jute and rattan finishes alongside layered textural elements to bring cosiness.

Wall: Dorchester Pink – Mid, Woodwork: Dorchester Pink

3. Delicate, soothing and timeless

Double drenching doesn’t have to mean bold and impactful. Ruth’s third colour scheme features a palette of our palest pink shades, which will combine perfectly to create a calming nursery or an elegant master bedroom.

Consider how you can paint different elements of your scheme to envelop your room in comforting, soothing pink hues. You could use Dorchester Pink on the ceiling, with Pink Slip on walls and Chemise on the trim to achieve a harmonious effect, graduating from light to dark.

Wall: Córdoba, Inset Shelf: Blush, Window Sill: Loft White

4. Romantic, soft and sumptuous

Pink shades with more visible purple undertones have an alluring, romantic quality. This means they are the perfect choice for rooms where you want to create cosiness and intimacy – for example, bedrooms, snugs or reading nooks.

The gentle lilac pink, Light Peachblossom pairs beautifully with Blush for a soft, inviting combination. Ruth suggests incorporating a sumptuous dark hue such as the plum aubergine, Adventurer, to bring added depth and ambience to the palette.

Walls & Fireplace: Leather, Ceiling & Window Frame: Loft White

5. Vibrant, bold and contemporary

Alongside our much-loved soft and muted hues, the Little Greene palette includes an array of bright statement pinks which are fantastic accent colours. Ruth’s final scheme combines three of these shades in a captivating double drench palette that’s packed with design impact and personality.

Be bold and use our playful pink, Carmine, on all four walls of your room, then drench the ceiling in Mischief – a striking magenta that can feel very glamorous. To really embrace double drenching, complete your scheme with an unexpected pop of colour on a piece of furniture, window frames or door. Ruth suggests Leather – our signature 1970s bright pink.
