A true DIY enthusiast, Dom from @the_houseofwood has chosen a selection of Little Greene colours to transform the interior and exterior of his family home. For his recent wallpaper project, he gained advice and inspiration from our Richmond showroom team to create a unique and luxurious guest room with our statement design, Pavona – Maeve.
We spoke to Dom to find out why he loves using Little Greene and discover his best DIY tips for wallpaper projects and more…
What Little Greene colours/wallpapers do you have in your home?
“We have SO many Little Greene colours around the house. My favourite is Livid which we chose for our front door, garage and side return. GREAT statement when you walk up to the house.”
What do you love about using Little Greene?
“There are so many things that make Little Greene stand out from the rest. First class service, helpful advice, great coverage, smooth application. Oh, and the packaging is really nice.”

Tell us about your guest bedroom project. How did you pick our statement wallpaper, Pavona – Maeve?
“Well, we had NO idea what we wanted to achieve, so we arranged an appointment with the in-store Colour Consultant at the Little Greene Richmond Showroom, who spent an hour giving us options, listening to what we liked and didn’t, and then showing the colours that would go with our final choice of paper. Once we had her reassurance of the nomination, we had no doubt that it would look great.”
Colour Consultancy is available at each of our London showrooms, designed to give you the confidence to decorate your home in a way that reflects your personal style. Our professionally trained consultants will provide expert advice on colours, finishes and wallpapers that will bring beauty to your home and complement your existing pieces.
Do you have any advice for choosing and hanging wallpaper?
“Sometimes you have to ‘let go’ of the safe option in order for a room to have that WOW factor. If none of us thought like that, we would all have very neutral homes with no identity.
In terms of hanging wallpaper, it’s really not as hard as it looks, especially now we have done away with papering tables. This wallpaper works by just pasting the wall and fixing the cut length to the wall. EASY!!!”

What are some of your best DIY tips? How do you stay motivated as you tackle every project?
“Two great bits of advice that I have been given by Trade and DIYers alike: 1. Measure twice, cut once! 2. Do your best, caulk/fill the rest.
In order to do well at DIY, you just have to commit and launch yourself at projects. Lose the fear and enjoy learning. Do your research, plan, take your time and (most importantly) BE SAFE!!!”

What projects do you have in the pipeline?
“Our bedroom is next. It’s also one of the last rooms as we wanted to get downstairs and the other three bedrooms done first. 100% getting inspiration from the spare room.”
