Our latest ‘Forest’ imagery demonstrates how a palette of tranquil greens, earthy hues and leafy wallpaper designs can infuse your home with the essence of nature. With statement greens like Jewel Beetle and Puck recently displacing dark blues as our most-loved colours, many of us are turning to our natural surroundings for inspiration as we create beautiful, comfortable interiors.

Our Creative Director, Ruth Mottershead, explores different ways that we can bring the freshness of the outdoors into our homes to create an oasis that soothes and calms the mind…

If you’re looking to add an instant sense of connection with the outdoors, a bold, nature-inspired wallpaper can create real atmosphere in a space. Ruth says: “Bedrooms are such personal spaces that are perfect for embracing an interior that speaks to you. Create a calming, cosy and cocooning sanctuary with a palette of soothing tones, such as the midnight sky hue, Dock Blue, and restful Three Farm Green.”

Pair our all-over leaf print, Beech Nut, with natural wood finishes and trailing house plants for an inviting, serene feel.

This characterful bedroom space uses our Fern – Off Black wallpaper, the perfect paper for restful bedrooms. It adds a subtle natural element to the space with a colour highlight of Middle Buff on the bed frame.

For a hallway that evokes nature and sets the tone for the rest of your home, Ruth suggests embracing darker colours: “Hallways are often an after-thought, but this is the first glimpse of your personal style that you and your guests will see each day. Create a uniquely welcoming feel with dark sumptuous colours. Pompeian Ash provides a sophisticated, cocooning feel which works well on panelling to add richness and depth.”

“A guest bathroom or downstairs toilet are fantastic rooms to embrace colour and pattern, creating a wow moment for you and your guests. Don’t be afraid to use rich, deep colours and all-over wallpaper designs, as these are transient rooms in which to add character and showcase your personality. Choose a pattern you love and tie your scheme together with coordinating paint colours.”

A colourful, floral wallpaper like Richmond Green – Dorcas provides a contemporary hint of the outdoors and pairs well with panelling in Baked Cherry.

While shades of green offer a beautiful sense of calm, you can also embrace rich woodland hues to fill your home with the beauty of the forest:

“Deep, intense browns such as Chocolate Colour are perfect for?creating calming spaces, enveloping an interior that will deliver an enticing, sumptuous layer of comfort and cosiness. With their earthy tones, chocolate browns are a subtle nod to nature and work wonderfully with natural materials such as stone, wood, wicker and rattan finishes.”

For a sophisticated and intimate dining space, consider pairing Stag Toile – Chocolat with panelling in Chocolate Colour. Mambo adds unexpected personality to this scheme.
